Annie Duke may not have captured her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is still one of the most feared poker players around the cash games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi low.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy following a big win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four kids. She was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker competitors. If you do not believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to play the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has captured her share of challenging tables, including eliminating Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They’re both players that have the ability to win the large money and do so with a smile.

Annie Duke is a strong player at any table due to the fact that she is a legitimate poker player, but it’s a bit more than simply being good at the game. Annie Duke is extremely intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she took a double major in English and Psychology.

When you sit across from her at the poker table you know Annie is there to play the game and she begins "summing" you up as soon as you join the game table. If you cannot bet like a camp, then do not waste your time.

Earning over three million dollars in tournament competitions, Mrs. Duke became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to hone his talents and develop into a force at the tables.

You might glimpse her at the Bellagio, you will notice Annie on the television and you might even compete against her in a web poker match, but do not anticipate an easy win. Except of course you’re a champion-in-the-making, you won’t defeat her. However, it would be exciting to mention you sat at the at the table with "The Duke".
