Poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years many types on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer broadcasting "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers are given 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning ante, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes instantly to the dealer. After the wager is the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a sum equal to the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays money even with your original bet and controlled expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
